…it was developed in the Colorado kitchen shared by husband and wife, Nate (a chemist) and Amanda (a doctor of pharmacy). 

The story begins with coffee…

Coffee is a beloved component of many a morning ritual; the pick-me-up to start the day. This was true for Nate and Amanda.

However, at 46 years old, Amanda—working mom, and self-proclaimed high-achiever, was finding that her cup (or two) of coffee alone couldn’t clear the frustrating (sometimes debilitating) brain fog that showed up on the arm of menopause.

Nate saw Amanda losing her confidence and sense of self...

...as she began questioning her contributions in meetings, forgetting words she’d used a thousand times, and worrying her mental fatigue was something worse.

At 48, Nate was also becoming more aware of his own brain health and wondered if that morning cup of coffee could do more than stand his hair on end (he’s bald, but he does like strong coffee). 

Ever the diligent husband (it’s true) and curious chemist, Nate set out to find a way to make their coffee deliver more.

Specifically, improve cognitive performance on demand. He did the research, selected only ingredients supported by high quality studies, sourced the purest forms available and began mixing on his (sterilized) kitchen counter.

An eager subject, Amanda tested every formulation and by round three, they had a winner. The formulation mixed right into coffee with no taste or grit, improved memory, focus, and mental fatigue and seemed to work within 30-60 minutes.

Amanda (always one for hyperbole) says the mix changed her life. 

They shared it with friends. Then their friends. Until the demand became undeniable (and exciting).

They knew they had a product that customers wanted, and they believed that product could be more than just a one-off side hustle. So augmenting the beloved coffee routine and helping people be at their best became a true passion. That is when co-founder Marcos agreed to contribute his extensive product expertise to the team (of 2). Despite battling stage-3 cancer at the same time, Marcos is responsible for doing so many of the critical things no one thinks about as you start to turn a vision into a principle-driven company and (more practically) bring a quality product to market.

The Sköshify story is a personal one; with humble beginnings, shaped by Nate’s authentic desire to help his wife feel whole again and their hope that others who are experiencing brain fog can also (re)gain the confidence that comes with clarity.
